2012 All-Star Information

Dear League Members:

It is that time of the year again, and our All Star selection process has commenced. This year the Board has gone to great lengths to ensure that the selection process is fair and unbiased. We have also made clear from the very beginning that in order to be eligible you must reside in the approved boundaries of Fullerton Pony that are established by Pony Inc. Over the next week we will be working with the divisional managers to finalize the voting. All results from the All Star voting will be posted at 12:00pm, Saturday, April 28,th at Amerige park. By Pony Inc rules, the President is responsible for all Post Season Play.

In order to clarify any confusion on All Star nominations, this is the process we use. Players are nominated by their manager and submitted to the President. Those nominations are then posted to the league through e-mail or our website. Once the managers have time to evaluate the nominees the candidates are put on a ballot for voting. The managers are not permitted to vote on their own submissions. Once the ballots have been cast, the president will tabulate the ballots and the top 12 candidates will make the roster. The final three selections from the list of nominations will be made by the manager appointed to the team. In order for an All Star team to be eligible for Pony sancationed tournaments, they must turn in a minimum of 12 players and a maximum of 15 on the roster. Fullerton Pony carries 15 on a roster to ensure that we meet these eligibility requirements.

The Managers of the All Star team are selected by their colleagues in the division. All managers are interviewed by the president and asked to submit their vote on who should manage the All Star team. Those votes are calculated and will be posted on Saturday April 28th with player selections. In the event of a tie, the President will have the final vote to determine who is the manager of the team. In the event we have a vacant manager position, the president has the authority find one from another division, or appoint a coach to manage the team. The appointed manager will be able to select his own coaching staff.

All parents of selected All Star players will be required to attend a divisional meeting before the players are officially appointed to the team. All parents will be required to sign a commitment form and medical release form. This informative meeting is mandatory and imperative to ensure that we get the All Star season started off on the right foot. On the night of the parent meeting we will also be sizing the players, therefore the players need to be at the meeting with their parent(s). The cost of the uniform is $110.00 and will need to be paid at time of sizing. If the league does not receive payment at the time of the parent meeting, we will assume that the player has decided not to participate in All Stars.

I know there will be plenty of questions, and most of those will be answered at the parent meeting with the information that you will be given. I appreciate all of the mangers' cooperation during this process and it has pleasure working with them. I want to congratulate all of the nominees and wish them the best.
